A night in a floating house, dawn at Yên Phú lake and a family dinner. A two-day plan for a first visit to Kim Phú.
Day 1, morning. Arrive in Tân Hóa village. If you booked the Oxalis Tú Làn 1-day tour, pickup is at 7:00 in Phong Nha. Driving yourself, search Google Maps for “Cổng Làng du lịch Tân Hóa”.
Day 1, afternoon. Cave tour, or walk the village and the Rào Nan riverbank and see the floating houses. For dinner, book a home cook a day ahead for local dishes such as lèn snails and pồi.
Night. Sleep in a floating-house homestay. The 11 homestays verified by the commune are on our Stay page; message us on WhatsApp and we will book for you.
Day 2, dawn. Yên Phú lake at sunrise, where Kong: Skull Island was filmed. There are no services at the lake: bring water and food.
Day 2, rest of the day. Either Rục Mòn cave and Yên Hợp village with a local guide, to hear the story of the Rục people, or Hung Tru valley (by kayak in the flood season). Ride on along the Hồ Chí Minh Road in the afternoon.
